The Mass of the Resurrection i was held honoring Ralph Sheehy of Bagley Tuesday at 10 a m from St Patrick’s Catholic Church in Bayard. The pastor, Fr Frank Palmer, officiated.
A native of the Jamaica community, Mr Sheehy was born November 21, 1904. He was the son of Mr and Mrs John Sheehy.
He was stricken Saturday evening at his home south of Bagley with what was first thought to be indigestion. However, the Bagley Rescue Unit was called and he was taken to the Greene County hospital where he died after about two hours. The cause of death was an apparent heart attack.
December 27, 1930, he was married to Bessie Zaruba in Bayard. They have farmed since that time in the Yale, Rippey and Bagley communities.
Besides his widow, he is survived by daughters, Donna D Sheehy of San Francisco, Calif, and Mrs Terence (Delores) Fane of Des Moines; brothers, James of Perry and Bernard of Jamaica, a sister, Mrs Mary Helen Warford of Panora, and two grandchildren.
His parents, a brother and two sisters preceded him in death. Interment was made in Perry.
Honorary bearers were Johnnie Anderson, Harold Howick, Jimmy Walker, Fred Gardner, Estel Templeton and Charles Klinzman. Carrying the casket were Dean Adkins Harold Richey, Robert Sellers, Jim Irwin, George Stotts and Ivan Chapman.
