Elmer C Gardner passed away June 14 in the Veterans hospital in Des Moines after several weeks illness.
The Bayard News Thursday, June 21, 1973

Born August 5, 1891 at Herndon, Elmer was a veteran of World War I. He was living in Des Moines at the time of his hospitalization.
Mr Gardner is survived by two sisters, Mrs Winnie Gilliland of Bagley and Mrs Josie Truax of Perry.
Funeral services were held June 16 from the funeral home in Panora, Burial was in Richland township cemetery. Pallbearers were William Bullock, Oral Bullock, Donald Gardner, Raymond Remele, Donald Remele and Vernon Holmes.
