Kelley, Elizabeth "Betsey"

Betsey Kelley was born in the Netherlands on Nov. 13, 1915. She came to the U.S. via Ellis Island and has resided in the Sacramento area since 1954. She worked as an RN with Sutter Hospitals for 24 years and was an active member of the Carmichael Presbyterian Church. She was an avid Kings and Giants fan and a master at Jeopardy and Scrabble.

She is survived by her sisters Neeltje Gingerich and Johanna Sorkness, her children Gary Kelley of Redding, Susan Poulsen of Penn Valley, Bruce Kelley and Deborah Kelley both of Auburn. She has 7 grandchildren: Karen Kelley, Erin Shelby, Brandi Dillon, Patrick Kelley, Jill Bast, Ryan Kelley, and Miles Kelley. Her great-grandchildren are Allison Dziedzic, Carly Dziedzic, Carlin Shelby, Matthew Shelby, and Connor Dillon.

A memorial service will be held on Sept. 18 at 3 PM at Carmichael Presbyterian Church, 5645 Marconi Ave. in Carmichael. Any donations should be made to a charity of your choice.
