Death of T. Isebrands

Tuesday evening at 6 o'clock occurred the death of T. Isebrands, after a lingering illness of many months duration. While the end was not unexpected, it came as a severe shock to the faithful wife and children.

Mr. Isebrands was born in Germany, April 29th, 1852. He came to this country with his parents when eight years of age. He was married to Hattie Premies [sic] of Grundy county, Iowa, June 14th, 1881. Eight children were born to them, seven of whom remain with their mother to mourn the loss of a loving husband and father.

Mr. Isebrands, with his family, came to George about 15 years ago, where he has been an enterprising business man and respected citizen. Of recent years and up to July 1st of this year he was publisher and proprietor of The Courier, having purchased the property of Jay Randall. He has also been actively engaged in the real estate business. He was the owner of extensive land interests and his family are well provided for, now that he who loved them has passed to that land, wherein, "The inhabitant shall not say, I am sick; the people that dwell therein shall be forgiven their iniquity."

The funeral will be held from the Christian Reformed church at one o'clock tomorrow. Interment will take place in the cemetery west of town.--George Courier

Mr. Isebrands conducted a store in Wellsburg several years ago. He was a brother of Mrs. John Mennenga of this county.
