Marjory Ann Eiklenborg, age 68, of Parkersburg, Iowa, was born the daughter of John and Irene (Moore) DeBoer on March 9, 1941, at the DeBoer Sister’s Maternity Home in Aplington, Iowa. She received her education and graduated from the Wellsburg High School in 1959.

On February 5, 1960, Marjory was united in marriage with Clarence James Eiklenborg at her parents’ home in Wellsburg, Iowa. They made their home in Aplington until 1972 when they moved to an acreage north of Parkersburg. Marjory helped Clarence part-time with the farming. She worked at the Plastronic’s in Grundy Center, Iowa for 27 years and retired in 2000. Marjory moved back to Aplington in 2008.

Marjory is formerly a member of the First Congregational Church in Parkersburg where she had been active in the Ladies Guild. In her spare time she often enjoyed reading and squirrel watching. Through the years she also enjoyed sewing, quilting and cross stitching.

Marjory died Monday, March 1, 2010, at the Maple Manor Village in Aplington, from natural causes.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Eiklenborg on December 2, 2008; and one son, Jerald Eiklenborg.

Marjory is survived by one son, David (Melissa) Eiklenborg of Aplington, Iowa; two daughters, Joyce (David) Helm of Grinnell, Iowa, and Sharon (Daniel) Abbott of Van Horne, Iowa; one daughter-in-law, Leann Eiklenborg of Grimes, Iowa; six grandchildren, Jason, Jessica, Joshua, Amanda, Jared and Emerald; and three brothers, Jack (Penny) DeBoer of Guthrie Center, Iowa, Gene (Marva) DeBoer of Adel, Iowa and Roger (Marlene) DeBoer of St. Cloud, Minnesota.

Funeral Services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 5, 2010, at the First Congregational Church with burial at the Oak Hill Cemetery both in Parkersburg.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the Redman-Schwartz Funeral Home in Parkersburg and 1 hour prior to services at the church.
