Jesse Robinson Died In C. Rapids

Jesse S. Robinson, who spent all of his active life in Grundy county, died in St. Luke's hospital in Cedar Rapids Thursday night. He met with an accident when he fell at the home of his daughter, and suffered head injuries. He was taken to the hospital after the accident. He had been losing his eyesight during the past year.

He would have been 82 years old on his next birthday. He was born at Lannark, Ill., April 28th, 1870. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Perry Robinson, early residents of Grundy Center, who at one time owned an opera house in Grundy Center.

He was a member of the First Baptist church of Grundy Center and a member of the Odd Fellows lodge for many years.

On September 27, 1899, he was united in marriage to Maggie Stewart, who remains to mourn his passing. There were two daughters: one, Emma Hanson of Cedar Falls, preceded him in death, and the other, Bina Clapp, lives in Cedar Rapids. There are five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Following their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Robinson lived on a farm a number of years before they moved to Grundy Center. For many years he was employed by the county to do work on the roads.

Four years ago the couple sold their home in Grundy Center and moved to Cedar Rapids where they made their home with their daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Clapp.

The Ferree ambulance brought the body to Grundy Center. Services were held Sunday afternoon in the Coffman-Ferree chapel. Burial was in the family lot in the Grundy Center cemetery. Rev. J. L. Pace, pastor of the Grundy Baptist church, officiated at the service.
