Obituary Mrs. H. O. Lindaman

Mrs. H. O. Lindaman, nee Klunder, was born December 31, 1871, at Bokel, in Oldenburg, Germany, where she was also baptized and confirmed. On Jan. 21, 1893, she was united in marriage to Eildert Hinrich Renken. Their marriage remained childless. On April 27, 1893, they left their fatherland and came to America, settling first in Chicago, and after eight years of residence there they came to Fern, Iowa. Here her first husband died about eleven years ago, and on August 29, 1934, she was united in marriage to H. O. Lindaman of Aplington.

Mrs. Lindaman has gone through a great deal of sickness and affliction. Since last fall she underwent two operations. After the first operation there were signs of improvement and restoration seemed to be in sight, but several months afterwards another operation was necessary. At this time the medical profession declared her case incurable. After several weeks at the hospital she was brought home in March where she received the best care and attention under the observation of the doctor. During all these many months she suffered more or less pain, requiring constantly the administration of hypodermics for the alleviation of pain. She has suffered much, sometimes severely, but she bore it patiently, submitting herself to Him, who suffered for us, and who always understands the sufferings of the Christian.

During the noon hour of Tuesday, Sept. 6, the Lord delivered her and took her into Gloryland where pain is no longer. This we dare hope on the strength of her testimony. In 1935 she became a member of the local Reformed church by letter from the Lutheran church near Stout. She also became a member of the Ladies' Aid. She was a faithful member, a regular attendant at divine services, when she was able to be present, always taking part in the activities of the Church.

She attained an age of 66 years, 8 months and 5 days. She leaves to mourn her departure, her husband, the adopted daughter, Mrs. Lula Flater of Holland; two brothers, Fred Klunder of Holland and Ben Klunder of Bridgewater, S.D., besides other relatives and a host of friends.

The funeral was held Friday at one o'clock at the home and from there at the Reformed church conducted by the pastor, the Rev. Henry Pannkuk, who was assisted by the Rev. W. Paulsen of Stout. Burial was made in the Salem Lutheran church cemetery near Stout.
