Quentin Biggs

Cedar Falls--Memorial services for Quentin G. Biggs, 76, of 1608 Grandview Court, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home. Burial will be at a later date at Hillcrest Cemetery, west of Cedar Falls.

Mr. Biggs donated his body to the University of Iowa School of Medicine. He died Friday afternoon at St. Francis Hospital, Waterloo.

He was born Oct. 12, 1908, at Caldwell, Idaho, son of William H. and Lulu G. Biggs.

He is survived by a sister, Helen Biggs Kohlruss of Leavenworth, Wash.

He graduated from Massena High School, and received a bachelors degree from the University of Northern Iowa.

From 1935 to 1942, and 1947 to 1948 he worked for WCF&N Railroad. He was a lieutenant junior grade in the Navy from 1942 to 1946.

Mr. Biggs was elected auditor of Black Hawk County for three terms, serving from 1949 to 1955.

He was president of the Cedar Falls Savings and Loan Association from 1955-1974, and served as chairman of the board of directors from 1974 until his retirement in 1980. He was active in a number of civic and service organizations, and was recognized as an expert fly fisherman.

Memorials may be made to Sartori Memorial Hospital.
