JEFFERSON BEE - Wednesday, October 1st, 1930 - The following abridged story of the life of Ross W. Miller, a former well known and highly respected Franklin citizen, who died at his home in Panora recently, was written by a friend and given us for publication in The Bee.

Ross W Miller was born at Columbus, Ohio, February 6, 1837. He was the son of John and Margaret Miller. He came to Iowa in 1844, a boy of seven years. The country was new and very thinly settled, hence he endured all the hardships of pioneer life.

In 1864 he was married to Miss Anna Mooney. To this union three children were born, namely Clarence Emerson, Ida Margaret, and Ada Mary.

The daughter, Ada, died in 1897. His wife died in 1892 and is buried in the Cooper cemetery.

In 1894 he was married to Mrs. Ella McKinney. He moved from Cooper to Panora 29 years ago. He united with the Methodist church in early manhood, and has always lived a faithful Christian life.

He leaves to mourn his wife; two children: C.E. Miller, of Red Bluff, California; and Mrs. W.H. Higgins, of Kingfisher, Oklahoma; two children he raised, Will McKinney, of Weyerhouser, Wisconsin and Mrs. C.C. Mooney, of Cooper; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.

At the time of his passing he was 93 years, 7 months, and 1 day old.
