Funeral services for Charlotte Hobart, 91, of Jefferson, will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday at the First United Methodist Church in Jefferson with burial in the Jefferson Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m., Sunday at the Brown Funeral Home in Jefferson.

Survivors include her children, Delmar (Butch) Hobart of Prole, Doug (Barb) Hobart of Adel, Jane (Richard) Hoffman of Bouton and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. ~ The Des Moines Register, Des Moines, Iowa Sat 24 Nov 2012.

Charlotte Hobart, the daughter of Joseph and Grace (Umbaugh) Pevestorf, was born July 5, 1921 on her family farm site in Willow Township in Greene County, Iowa and departed this life November 20, 2012 at the Greene County Medical Center in Jefferson, Iowa. She lived her life to the age of 91 years, 4 months and 15 days.
Charlotte graduated from the Scranton High School in 1938. After graduation, Charlotte taught country school in Willow Township. On July 5, 1941, Charlotte Pevestorf was united in marriage to Byron (Barney) Hobart. Three children were born to this union.
Barney served in WWII and following his discharge, Barney and Charlotte farmed near Scranton. In 1951, they moved to a farm near Bagley. They retired from farming in 1963 and moved to Jefferson. Charlotte worked at the Jefferson J.C. Penny's Store and later for the G & M Grocery Store until its closing. Barney passed away in 1989 and Charlotte continued to live at home until she became a resident of the Greene County Long Term Care Facility.
Charlotte was a member of Greenbrier Methodist Church for many years and after moving to Jefferson; transferred her membership to the First United Methodist Church.

Charlotte's number one love was her family and she enjoyed cooking family dinners at home or at Leech Lake in Minnesota where she loved to fish. She was known for the best pies around and enjoyed crocheting.

Charlotte is survived by her three children: Delmar (Butch) Hobart of Prole, Doug (Barb) Hobart of Adel and Jane (Richard) Hoffman of Bouton, 8 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren, a sister, Ruby Springer, a brother, Dean Pevestorf, and many nephews and nieces. Those who preceded her in death were her parents, husband, a brother Loren and a daughter-in-law, Joni Hobart.

A celebration of Charlotte's life was held at 10:30 AM on Monday, November 26, 2012, at the First United Methodist Church in Jefferson with Pastor Julie Poulsen officiating. Burial was made in the Jefferson City Cemetery. Musical selections "How Great Thou Art" and "The Lord's Prayer" were sung by soloist, Larry Dowd and accompanied by organist, Marilynn Hoskinson and the congregation sang "Amazing Grace".

Serving as casket bearers were Mike Hobart, Byron Hobart, Andy Hobart, Tom Peterson, Ryan Hobart and Steve Aldridge. An honorary bearer was Josh Aldridge
