PAGE COUNTY, IOWA, MARRIAGE RECORDS: Elizabeth S. Reeves married Winfield (Schaeffer) Long:

Their daughter Chloe Eliza Long, 32, born in Fremont county; married John A. Douglas, 35, born in Philadelphia, now a lumber merchant in Laurel, Nebraska, son of Joseph Douglas and Sarah J. McKinney; married on Feb. 4, 1901 in Shenandoah.

N.B.: Elizabeth (Reeves) and Long's father, Stacy Reeves, were the guardians for the minor children of Eliphas Haning during the 1850's in Fremont county.

Eliphas was the first Haning to emigrate to Fremont from Athens county, Ohio--about 1854. Eliphas died soon after arriving....Stacy Reeves was active in the Cherry Grove United Brethren Church, northeast of Sidney.--W.F.
