Ackley Merchant Dead

The funeral of James Whiteside, a prominent resident of Ackley and close vicinity for the past fifty years, was held at the family home one-half mile east of Ackley Tuesday afternoon. Mr. Whiteside, who was the son of a pioneer resident of this vicinity, was born on a farm three miles north of Ackley in May 1864. He later became a resident of this city, where he engaged in the grocery business for several years. He is survived by his wife and five daughters.
