Edward Buckingham, 68, well known to Dows people died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. W. Rowe Cory at Tama on Sunday, January 18, 1942.

William Edward Buckingham was born at Troy Mills, Iowa May 8, 1873. He was united in marriage January 1, 1900 to Eva E. Loucks at Dows and lived at Dows many years having farmed near here and taught school in Morgan township. For the past 31 years he was a traveling salesman for a Des Moines firm and made regular trips through Wright County.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Eva Buckingham and four children: Mrs. Vera Cory of Tama, Alvina Buckingham of Des Moines, Mrs. Alice Harvey of Waterloo and Walter Buckingham of Los Angeles, California; also, three brothers: Lewis and Frank Gardner of Chicago, Illinois and Arthur Gardner of Greenfield; two sisters, Mrs. Ellen Robinson of Mechanicsville and Mrs. Inez Tounsend, Winterset and five grandchildren.

The funeral was held Tuesday, January 20 at the Halverson's Funeral Parlor in Dows in charge of Rev. R. A. Brough with burial in Mount Hope Cemetery.
