Donald K. Koch, 83, of Geneva, passed away Monday, August 24, 2015, at the Franklin Country View Nursing Facility in Hampton, Iowa. He was born August 29, 1931, to Kenneth and Agnes (Larsen) Koch in Hampton, Iowa. Don graduated from Geneva High School in 1949 and then attended Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. He was married on February 13, 1993, to Joyce Brockshus in Hampton, Iowa. Don served his country in the United States Army from 1952 - 1954. He worked as a farmer in the Geneva area. Don was a member of the Franklin County Conservation board, American Legion of Ackley, Church of Christ where he served on the board, as a deacon, trustee and elder. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed woodworking, loved nature, loved children and sharing of knowledge from books and experiences. Don had a strong faith and was active in his church. He is survived by his wife Joyce Koch of Geneva, son Todd (Stacey) Koch of Geneva, daughter Tori (David) Badger of Elk River, Minnesota, step son Mike (Kristi) Fairbanks of Hampton, step daughter Cheryl (Monte) DeArmoun of Northwood, granddaughter Taylor Koch of Alexander, granddaughter Kourtney Badger of Elk River, Minnesota, grandson Kyle Badger of Elk River, Minnesota, step granddaughter Briley (Nick) Dideriksen of Cedar Falls, step granddaughter Aubrey Fairbanks (special friend Dominick) of O'Fallon, Missouri, step granddaughter Paige DeArmoun of Northwood, step grandson Ross DeArmoun of Northwood, step granddaughter Jade Korth of Dows, step grandson Alex Korth of Indianola, step granddaughter Haylee Korth of Indianola, brother Leonard (Lois) Koch of Hollywood, Florida. Don was preceded in death by his parents, brother Eugene and sister Lucille Sheeler.
