GEORGE MUTZEL DIED AT FAMILY HOME AT HAMPTON
Lived in Osceola Township, Franklin County Several Years
Funeral services for George F. Mutzel, who died last Sunday at his home at Hampton, after a week’s illness, were held last Tuesday afternoon at the home and at Trinity Lutheran church, with Rev. G. A. Koch, pastor of the church in charge. Burial was made in the Hampton cemetery. George Frederick Mutzel was born November 3, 1869, at Sabes, Pomerania, Germany. He came to the United States with his parents in 1888 and the family settled in the Ackley community where he grew to young manhood. His marriage to Johanna Kothenbeutel took place at Ackley on January 30, 1896. They came to Franklin county soon afterward and had made their home in this community since, where they operated a farm until he retired from active work and moved to Hampton in 1930. Mr. Mutzel had been a member of Trinity Lutheran church since becoming a resident of Hampton. The deceased is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Charles Savage, of Garner; Mrs. Paul Wagoner, Mrs. Ralph Miller, Ms. Arthur Behn, of Hampton, and one son, George Mutzel Jr. of Hampton. He is also survived by one sister, Mrs. William Pohlman, of Ackley.
