MASON CITY, IOWA – Judy A. Morphew, 74, of Mason City, died peacefully on Tuesday (February 12, 2019) at Mercy Medical Center – North Iowa, surrounded by her loving family.

A Funeral service will be held at 10:00am on Saturday (February 16, 2019) at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, 2502 S. Jefferson Ave., Mason City, with the Rev. Matthew Muters officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery, Mason City.

Visitation with public viewing will be held Friday (February 15, 2019) at Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 3rd St NE, Mason City, from 4 pm until 7 pm and will resume one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.

The daughter of Kenny and Irene (Ruckdashel) Sido, Judith Ann Sido was born on March 14, 1944 in Charles City. After the untimely death of her father, Irene remarried Albert Eggena and he quickly stepped into the role of father to Irene's children. She attended school in Meservey and graduated among the class of 1962.

For thirteen years Judy was married and stayed at home tending to her children, Doug and Connie Martin. She then began a career as a Physical Therapist's Assistant at Park Hospital in Mason City.

Through Divine intervention and a chance meeting, Judy met her future husband, Keith Morphew, on Memorial Day weekend in 1977; it was love at first sight for Keith. The couple wed on October 22, 1977 at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church.

She continued her work at North Iowa Medical Center until its merger with Mercy, where she worked for 44 years until her retirement in April of 2016.

Judy loved the outdoors; in earlier years she and Keith enjoyed camping, she loved basking in the sun in her backyard pool with a glass of wine, and relaxing under the gazebo with Keith where they would watch the birds and people as they walked and biked along the neighborhood bike path. She was crafty and enjoyed painting, drawing, and was a Do-It-Yourself type of girl. She was a devoted Iowa Hawkeye fan and loved gardening and tending to her flowers. She cherished every opportunity spent with Keith, her children, and grandchildren.

She was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church and in earlier years taught Sunday School.

Those grateful in sharing in her life are her husband, Keith Morphew, Mason City; children, Douglas Martin, and Connie (Raymond) McCoy, Mason City; grandchildren, Jason (Amanda) and Joshua (Chi) Martin, Jeremy Tollefson, Taylor McCoy, and Sunni Martin; and her great grandchildren; siblings, Pat Ferleman, and Alvin (Sue) Eggena; as well as her nieces, nephews and extended relatives.

She is preceded in death by her biological father, Kenneth; parents, Albert and Irene Eggena; a sister in infancy, Marla Jean; and her brother, Fred Eggena.
