John Epps received a telegram Monday that an uncle at Fayette was dead, and left on the noon train to attend the funeral.

From the Fayette Postal Card we clip the following from an obituary of and{sic} old resident of Fayette county, Mr. Graham was an uncle of the Messrs. John and Elisha Epps of this city.

Thomas Graham was born Dec. 10, 1826, while his parents were on their way from North Carolina to Indiana. Lived in Indiana till he was 21, when he moved to Illinois where he engaged in tanning till he came to Fayette Co. in 1851.

In 1874 he purchased the farm where he died Sunday, Dec. 1, 1901, being nine days less than 75 years of age, Mr. Graham’s father was a Scotchman whose wife was of French and Portuguese extraction.

Mr. Graham was a member of the United Brethren church ever since he came to the county. He was a man highly esteemed by all who knew him. Rev. J. L. Paine conducted the services.
