June 19, 1929 - April 29, 2018

Agnes Marie Foxen, 88, of Waverly, Iowa, died Sunday night, April 29, 2018, at her daughter's home near Waverly.

Agnes was born on June 19, 1929, in Dougherty, Iowa, the daughter of Helen Bridget (McKigney) and Jacob Ewen. Agnes attended country school and graduated from St. Patrick's School.

On September 12, 1953, Agnes was united in marriage to Francis “Bud” Foxen, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. The couple moved to Rockford, where they raised their family. After Bud died in 1987, Agnes continued to live in Rockford until recently moving to the Waverly area.

Agnes was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #354 for 72 years. She was a very kind and loving soul who always put family first. She enjoyed gardening, but most of all being a homemaker, mother, and grandmother.

Agnes is survived by six children, Marian (Tim) Mahoney of Lake City, MN, Dorothy (Tom) Leavens of Greene, IA, Bernard Foxen of Yukon, OK, Francene (Craig) Folkerts of Waverly, IA, Martin (Lori) Foxen of Cedar Rapids, IA, and Jacob (Montica) Foxen of Parkersburg, IA; eighteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; one sister, Helen Engels; three sisters-in-law; numerous nieces and nephews; and a close family friend, Myra Foxen. She was preceded in death by Bud; her parents; four brothers; and three sisters.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 4, 2018, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Waverly, with Father David Ambrosy officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Rockford, Iowa.

Visitation will be on Thursday, May 3, 2018, at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Waverly from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. There will be a scripture/rosary service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will resume one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice, or charity of donor's choice, and online condolences may be left at www.kaisercorson.com.
