Tonya Charlene Wolters was born August 3, 1967, in Mason City, Iowa, to Chuck and Nancy (Stover) Wolters. She attended and graduated from Rockford Highschool in 1985. Following graduation she attended Ellsworth Community College and NIACC.

On August 23, 1986 Tonya married the love of her life, Wayne Martin. To this union two children were born, Abby and Colby. Together she and Wayne created and ran Industrial Piping Service and farmed by Cartersville, Iowa. Tonya owned and operated Central Signs in Nora Springs. For many years she shared her love of painting with others through art.

Tonya's love for horses began with her grandmother's work horses. When she was given her first horse, Silver, her love grew into barrel racing, team penning, trail riding, especially with her horse, Smiley. Tonya loved to be outdoors and enjoyed any activity that would get her into the sunshine. Tonya's favorite time of year was harvest season when she would get the opportunity to run the combine in the fields.

She loved her cabin on the river, spending time on the pontoon with her friends and family. Tonya was known as the “biggest kid in Carville”, she could be found starting water balloon fights and having dance parties with all the other kids. Together with Wayne they visited Mexico many times, and most recently Key West; Tonya loved the tropical weather. In the winter Tonya could be found snowmobiling all over the area.

Her dog, Sunny, was a constant companion. Tonya's favorite life experience was becoming a Nana to her beautiful grandchildren: Case, Mia, Laina, Parker, and Baby Martin. Each day she spent with her grandchildren was precious.

Left to cherish Tonya's memory is her husband of 31 years, Wayne Martin of Rockwell; her children, Abby (Dustin) Servantez of Rockford, and Colby (Brittany) Martin of Rockwell; grandchildren, Case, Mia, and Laina Servantez, Parker and Baby Martin expected March 22, 2018; parents, Chuck (Robin) Wolters, and Nancy Clifford; siblings, Monte (Angie Webb) Wolters and Janan (Eric) Brunner; mother-in-law, Gloria Martin; siblings-in-law, Bob (Pat) Martin, Irene Martin, John (Donna) Martin, Paul (Diane) Martin, Deb Martin, Nancy (Denny) Umphress; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
