MASON CITY, IOWA - Mary I. Reed, 88, of Mason City, and formerly of Marble Rock, Iowa, died Monday, November 6, 2017, at the IOOF Home, in Mason City.

Funeral services will be held at 9:00 AM on Thursday, November 9, 2017, at Faith Baptist Church, 1807 S. Kentucky, with Pastor Tim Moore and Pastor Greg Gosnell officiating.

Visitation will be from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM on Wednesday, November 8, 2017, at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave. Interment will take place at the Westside Cemetery in Marble Rock, Iowa.

MASON CITY: Mary I. Reed, 88, of Mason City, IA, and formerly of Marble Rock, IA, died Monday, November 6, 2017, at the IOOF Home. Funeral services will be held at 9:00 AM on Thursday, November 9, 2017, at Faith Baptist Church, 1807 S. Kentucky, with Pastor Tim Moore and Pastor Greg Gosnell officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM on Wednesday, November 8, 2017, at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue. Interment will take place at the Westside Cemetery in Marble Rock.

Mary was born August 29, 1929, in Long Beach, CA, the daughter of Walter and Ruth (Volker) Griswold. She graduated from Marble Rock High School in 1947, and continued her education at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, IA. She then taught country school for a few years before being united in marriage to Lloyd Reed in Marble Rock on June 30, 1949. Mary enjoyed serving the Lord. She also enjoyed being a homemaker, traveling, meeting new people and Bible reading. She served at RGBI for 40 years. Mary was a member of Faith Baptist Church.

Mary is survived by her children: Wilma Traeger and husband Ernest of Havana, IL, Beth Ott and husband Dave of Marble Rock and Donna Hart and husband Wayne of West Clarksville, NY; 11 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; sister: Grace Ogburn of Reasner, IA; and 2 that called her “grandma”: A.J. Stice of Marble Rock and Matt Losee of Charles City, IA. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband Lloyd.

The family would like to thank the staff at the IOOF Home for the wonderful care given over the past year.
