Northern Iowa
Floyd County-The population of Floyd County is estimated at 8,500. 719 votes were polled at the last election-being nearly twice the votes pulled in the county last spring. No section of country in Iowa is superior to Floyd County, for agricultural purposes. The finest timber in this region is also here found, as well as the best mill purposes. At Riverton, Floyd, St. Charles, Watertown, Rock Grove, Nora Springs and Rockford, an abundance of water power can easily be obtained, and in each of these places is being used to considerable extent to develop the resources of our county, and build up many thriving villages. Crops in this county promise fair, those harvested have suffered from the severe rains of August. Fall crops will be the best.
