Stanley Park Cowles passed away on February 21, 2021, at the age of 87 at his home in Chandler, Arizona. Stanley was an Arizona resident for 48 years and had lived in Chandler since 2004. Stanley was born in 1933 to Park and Lulu (Miller) Cowles. He grew up on a farm near Ossian, Iowa. He continued farming in rural West Union, Iowa where he married Donna Demory on Easter Sunday, April 10, 1955 at Bethany Lutheran Church in rural Fayette County, Iowa. In 1966 he moved his family to Bowman Woods in northeast Cedar Rapids, Iowa where he worked at Collins Radio and Nash Finch Company. In 1973 the family moved to Tempe, Arizona where he was employed by Smitty's Marketplace as the Transportation Supervisor, keeping 22 stores stocked with groceries and general merchandise.

Stanley was best known for his handyman abilities. His favorite tool was a bottle of Elmer's Glue, which he would use to fix just about anything. One of his greatest joys was when he retired and became a full-time Grandpa which required him to fix many, many things! He was also an inventor, holding a patent for an adjustable disposable funnel. He could solve any problem,even making custom sun visor extenders for his car.

Stanley and Donna were very involved with their church community.Due to the pandemic covid virus guidelines a private graveside service will be held for the family at a future date. Stanley was preceded in death by his wife Donna; his parents, Park and Lulu Cowles; his sister Delores Chensvold and a brother, Kenneth Cowles.

He is survived by daughters Kandis (Mark) Barnum of Waxhaw, North Carolina, Marla (Patrick) Hostetler of Chandler, Arizona, and Jodi (Simon) Nunn of Colorado Springs, Colorado; son Lee (Catherine) Cowles; brothers Bob (Beverly) Cowles of Ossian, Iowa and George (Darlene) Cowles of Mission, Texas; 16 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
