5-Year-Old Son of Mr. and Mrs. L. Stansbury Dies at Decorah

Funeral service for Richard Lee Stansbury, five-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Stansbury, was held at the Burnham Funeral home here Saturday, Rev. A.J. Kindred, pastor of the Fayette Methodist church, officiating. Mrs. Lionel Weston and Mrs. Harold Duke sang, accompanied by Billy Johnston at the organ. Honorary pallbearers were M.L. Heiserman and Eldon Stirk. Burial was made in West Union cemetery.

Richard Lee was born Sept. 3, 1934, at West Union, and died Jan. 23, 1941, at the home of his parents at Decorah.

Surviving, besides his father and mother, are his grandparents, Mr and Mrs. Lee Henning. James K. Stansbury, and many other relatives in and near West Union. Richard was preceded in death by his infant brother, Loren S., on Nov 3, 1940. Those attending the funeral from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Rufus Knott, Mr and Mrs. Lloyd Dryer, Monroe Center, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Iris Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Watson, Jay Merrill, Mrs. Henry -Enos, Mr and Mrs. Machin Henning, John and Grace, all of Saratoga, and Mrs. Vera Knutson and Emil Begalk, Decorah.

Mr. and Mrs. Stansbury will be remembered by West Union folks as proprietors of the Empress cafe here about four years ago.
