C.S. SABOE RITES HELD WEDNESDAY.

Funeral services for C.S. Saboe, 69, whose death occurred last Sunday afternoon following a brief illness, were conducted Wednesday from St. Olaf Lutheran church, with Rev. E. O Ulring officiating. Burial was in the West Union cemetery with the following pallbearers Harry, Marvin, Lloyd and Arnold Saboe, Milford Ney, all nephews, and Richard Gross, husband of his niece.

Colben Severin Saboe was born on June 27, 1882, at Clark, S. Dak., and was baptized there. As a young lad he moved with his mother, brother and sister to Dover township to where his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Colben T. Saboe, lived. He spent most of his early life with his grandparents. He attended country school near there, and at the age of 14, was confirmed at Stavanger Lutheran Stone church near Ossian by Rev. Koren. He worked on various farms until he started farming on his mother's farm. He was united in marriage to Emma Juvick, Dover township on March 18, 1909, by Rev K. L. Kleveland of First Lutheran church. They farmed for eight years, and in 1917 they moved to West Union which had since been his home. He was employed by Graham and Schenck Lumber company for 27 years when he retired.

Four sons were born to them, Maurice, Orville and Clifford, West Union, and Lester, Waterloo. Surviving besides his wife and sons are four grandchildren, two aunts, and uncle, nieces and nephews. His parents and only brother and sister preceded him in death.
