A memorial service for Steven W. Stanbrough, age 57, of Ossian, Iowa, was held Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at the Living Hope Baptist Church in Ossian, Iowa. Pastor Joseph Needham officiated. Burial was in the Oak Ridge Cemetery in Auburn, Fayette County, Iowa.

Steven Wayne Stanbrough was born October 30, 1955 in Hampton, Iowa to Earl R. and Carolyn (Baker) Stanbrough. Steven died suddenly on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at the Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. As a young boy he attended and was baptized at the First Baptist Church in West Union, Iowa. After his graduation from North High School in West Union, Steve studied automobile mechanics at Area One Vocational Technical School (now NICC) in Calmar, Iowa. He was employed as a mechanic at John Falb Company in West Union. Later he did farmhand work for Art Molokken, Dale Pape, and Steve Bushman. Steven was forced to retire due to his declining health. In addition to working on cars, he enjoyed fishing, playing cards, family get-togethers, and being with friends.

Steven was preceded in death by his father Earl and his maternal and paternal grandparents. He is survived by his mother Carolyn Stanbrough of Sumner, Iowa; and his siblings: Marty (Nancy) Stanbrough, Bruce (Carol) Stanbrough, Becky (Joe) Schott, Rosemarie Stanbrough (friend Jay Homewood), and Betsy (Rob) Raymer) in addition to nieces and nephews.
