West Union, Ia.--Special: Funeral services for George Brause, 79, who died Feb. 6. following a long illness, were held at the Bethel Presbyterian Church with he Rev. G. W. Ukena, pastor, officiating.
Mr. Brause was born east of here on Sept. 12, 1863, the son of Mr. and Mrs. August Brause. He was married to Henrietta Hopf on Oct. 27, 1887 his wife dying June 3, 1940.
For 23 years he operated the Brause sugar camp on the Brause farm.
He is survived by seven children: Earl and Mrs. David Yarrington, both of Waterloo; D. M. Brause at home; Claude of West Union, Mrs. Charles Bloomfield of Jackson, Nev., and Mrs. Floyd Gilley of Maynard; 18 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
