TUPPER FUNERAL HELD ON MONDAY

Final rites for Leo V. Tupper, 74, who died Saturday afternoon, were held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock from Zion Lutheran church, with Rev. Paul T. Meyer officiating. Burnham-Wood Funeral home was in charge of burial services at West Union cemetery. Pallbearers were Sam Nordhus, Art Renwick, John Herschinger, William Sabo, Clarence Thies and Bill Jacobson.

Leo Vern Tupper was born Dec. 9, 1888, at Auburn, the son of Forrest Tupper and Lorena Ober Tupper. He attended the school in Auburn and was engaged in farming there during all of his active life.

On April 9, 1912, he was united in marriage with Pearl Johnston at Elgin. Two sons were born to them, Orvis, Hazelton, and Allen, Auburn. For over 50 years he lived on his farm, where he took a special interest in later years in hunting and raising and selling berries, which brought him into contact with many people who will remember him as a friend.

On Dec. 24, he had an accident with his tractor and was taken to Palmer Memorial hospital, where he died last Saturday afternoon at the age of 74 years and 20 days.

He is survived by his widow, two sons, six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, his step-mother, Hulda Tupper; two step-brothers, Otis and Norman, and two step-sisters, Gretchen Peachman and Ruth Pierson, both of Waukegan, Ill., and many other relatives and friends. His parents and his brother, Loyd Allen Tupper, have preceded him in death.
