Edna Mae (Davisson) Anderson 1929-2022

Edna Mae Anderson, was born in Vincennes, Indiana to Monte and Nettie (Craig) Davisson on October 6, 1929. She passed away at Aspire Nursing Home in Estherville, Iowa on June 13, 2022 at the age of 92 years.

Edna attended and graduated from Vincennes’ school. Edna worked for Gimbels for a time before she met Francis “Sport” Anderson. She married him on January 28, 1954 in Vincennes, Indiana and to this union two children were born, Mary and Jeff.

Edna enjoyed watching Judge Judy, reading romance books, and doing word searches. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary.

Edna is survived by her children, Mary (Kevin) Bortvit of Estherville and Jeff (Marsha) Anderson of Estherville; four grandchildren: Kayla (Jordan) Huston of Minot, North Dakota, Jacob Bortvit (Olivia Truog) of Estherville, Suzanne (Michael Barrera) Anderson of Ireton, Iowa, and Bradley Anderson of Estherville; great-grandchildren, Lincoln Huston, Mason Huston, Jenna Barrera, and Baby Barrera (due in October); and her sisters Nancy Wesfall and JoAnn Fellows.

Edna is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Francis "Sport" Anderson, and her brothers Eugene, Jimmy, and Charles.

A graveside service was held at Oak Hill Cemetery in Estherville, with Pastor Doug Burton, officiant.
