Lulabelle "Lu" Schwidder, the daughter of Darrell and Delma (Lowe) Huntley was born on May 1, 1937 in Wallingford, Iowa. She died on Wednesday, April 1, 2021 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota at the age of 83 years.

Lu attended Ceylon, Minnesota High School before working at Glasstite in Dunnell, Minnesota. She retired after 20 years.

On Sept. 21, 1957 she was united in marriage to Vern Schwidder in Jackson, Minnesota.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church and the VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed going to the casino and reading in her free time.

Lu is survived by her daughter, RoseMarie (Eugene) Friesner, Estherville, Iowa; her granddaughter, Nicole Spiegeler; great-grandchildren, Trevor (Mariah) Ankrum, Bailey Spiegeler and Taylor Spiegler; great-great-grandchildren, Dacian, Ares, and Grayson; and her sister, Bessie (Robert) Reinhardt.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Vern Schwidder; her parents, Darrell and Delma (Lowe) Huntley; and her siblings, Lila Myers, Hazel Christiansen, and LeRoy Huntley.

A funeral service was held Monday, April 5, 2021 at the Henry-Olson Funeral Home in Estherville with interment at Oak Hill Cemetery, Estherville.
