Dale Bernhardt Jensen, the son of Carl and Clara (Jensen) Jensen, was born October 3, 1923, in Emmetsburg, Iowa. He died Thursday, December 10, 2020, at Spencer Municipal Hospital in Spencer, Iowa, at the age of 97.

He received his education in the Lake Center, Iowa School, graduating from Lake Center High School. He then attended one year of college at Iowa State College. He served in the United States Air Force where he attained the rank of Staff Sergeant during the Korean Conflict. Following his honorable discharge from military service Dale returned to the area.

Upon his return home, Dale was engaged in farming. He was united in marriage to Marjorie Naig on July 21, 1968. The couple made their home in the Ringsted area where Dale was engaged in farming. Dale was an individual who never knew a stranger. His care, love and concern for others was apparent when you met him.

He was very active in community and civic affairs his entire life. He was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Depew, Iowa, and most recently Redeemer Lutheran Church following their move to Estherville; the American Legion where he served as Financial Officer, Men's Brotherhood, Sons of Norway, Danish-American Fellowship, the fire department, school board and a member of the Soil Conservation Board.

Left to cherish Dale’s memory are his sister, Gloria Thompson. LaPorte City, Iowa; stepchildren, Michael (Betty) Naig of Emmetsburg, Iowa, Gloria (James) Wiener of Cornville, Arizona, Susan (Darwin) Wilson of Ringsted, Iowa, Debra (Howard) Gaster of Brooklyn, Iowa; step-grandchildren, Lisa Naig, Chris Naig, Michelle Theesfeld, Erica Wiener, Jesse Wiener, Traci Brandenburg, Ryan Wilson, Dina Hasty, Derek Gaster; 25 step-great-grandchildren and 1 step-great-great granddaughter.

He has been preceded in death by his wife; parents; brother, Ronald Jensen; and five sisters, Fern Hollstein, Lillian Condra, Daisy Jensen, Violet Root and Rosemarie Larson; step-grandsons Scott Naig and Timothy Naig.

A private family service was held and interment was at St. John's North Cemetery, Depew, Iowa. A public celebration of life is to be held at a later date.
