Jean A. Peta, daughter of William and Margaret (Anderson) Loftis, was born on June 28, 1942 in Estherville, Iowa. She passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2020 at Good Samaritan Society in Estherville at the age of 78 years.

Jean attended Catholic school in Estherville.

She married Clifford Peta on July 14, 1962 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Estherville. Following their marriage, the couple made their home in Estherville. Over the years, Jean worked at Berkley's; Montgomery Ward; and did housekeeping at the Good Samaritan Society. For hobbies, she enjoyed camping, dancing, bowling, playing cards, but most important was spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.

Jean is survived by her husband, Clifford Peta; her children, Diane (Tim) Helget; Ron (Dawn) Peta, and Mark (Tracy) Peta; 10 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and her sister, Edna Payne.

She is preceded in death by her parents, twin brother, James Loftis, stepmother, Caroline Loftis and her mother and father-in-law, John and Zelma Peta.

The funeral service was held Thursday, October 8, 2020 at the Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel in Estherville with burial at East Side Cemetery in Estherville.
