My grandfather, William Howard Ryan, and his brother Michael Ryan, are both listed in an Iowa 1885 census as living at an address in Dubuque, Windsor Ave. East. There are several other children listed at the same address which leads me to believe it was an orphanage. My Great-Grandparents had died in 1881-1883 leaving the 5 children orphans, Does anyone know if an orphanage was located on Windsor Ave East in Dubuque. If so, which orphanage?
