Death called Mrs. Anna Mary Althaus yesterday evening at 11:05 o'clock at the family home. 1709 Algona avenue. Although Mrs. Althaus had been ailing for the past four years she was not confined to her bed until a week ago.
Mrs. Althaus was born in Germany. February 13. 1842, and came to this country, settling in Dickeyville with her parents when she was thirteen years old. She later moved to Kieler, Wis., where she resided until twenty-seven years ago when she came to Dubuque, which had since been her residence. Her husband died twenty-seven years ago Mrs. Althuas was a Catholic, a member of St. Mary's church and the Rosary society.
She leaves to mourn her passing three daughters, Mrs. Sophie Elsasser, Mrs. Anna Hinze and Mrs. Katherine Becker, all of Dubuque, two sons, Frank and Valentine Althuas, of Louisburg, Wis., sixteen grand children, two sisters, Mrs. Mary Jammann, of Dickeyville, Wis., Miss Fluck of Minneapolis, and three brothers, Nicholas, Joseph and Charles Fluck, all of Prairie du Chien, Wis.
The funeral will be held Thursday morning from the residence, to St. Mary's church at 9 o'clock. Burial will be made in Mt. Calvary cemetery.
