GEORGE J. MEYER CALLED BY DEATH
WELL KNOWN RESIDENT DIES AT HIS HOME TODAY--WIFE AND 11 CHILDREN SURVIVE.
George J. Meyer, a well known and highly respected resident of Dubuque, died at his home, 33 Belmont street, at one o'clock today. The deceased was born December 18, 1851, at Sherrill, Iowa. He came to Dubuque in 1881, where he resided for the past forty years.
He was an exemplary citizen, an ideal husband and father and loyal friend and a devout member of St. Mary's parish. He leaves a wife and eleven children to mourn his loss; also one sister and two brothers.
The funeral will be announced later.
Friends will please omit flowers.
