Joseph F. McCabe died at the family residence, 1240 Locust street, Saturday morning at 4 o'clock, following a lingering illness. Deceased was born in Dubuque, 58 years ago, and spent practically his entire life in this city.
He was a member of the Holy Name society of St. Patrick's church, of which parish he was a life-long member. He also held membership in the Modern Woodmen of America, the Order of Foresters and the Orioles.
He is survived by his wife, Anna McCabe, one son, George of Davenport; two daughters, Mrs. C.E. Bast of Everett, Wash., and Miss Pearl of this city; two grandchildren, also four brothers and two sisters, James of Otter Creek, Ia.; Frank of Lansing; Bernard of Falcon, S.D., and William of this city; Margaret and Mrs. John Riley of this city. One son, Ryle, preceded him in death 11 years ago.
The funeral will be held Monday morning from the late residence to St. Patrick's church at 9 o'clock. The burial will be made in Mt. Calvary cemetery.
