JOSEPH W. TOBIN

Joseph W. Tobin, 45, of Dyersville, operator of the Tobin grocery company, died at 5:30 pm. Friday at Mercy hospital after a short illness.

The body is at the Kramer funeral home, Dyersville, from where the funeral will be held at 9 a.m. Monday to St. Francis church. Burial will be in St. Francis cemetery.

Tobin was born July 24, 1904, at Worthington, Ia. He was married Oct. 27, 1925, to Sylvia Fortman, at Dyersville.

Active in civic and lodge affairs, he was a member of the Dyersville Commercial club, the Dyersvllle council. Knights of Columbus, and the Catholic Order of Foresters.

Surviving are his wife; one son, Morris Tobin, at home; four sisters. Mrs. Joseph Kohn, Miss Zita Tobin and Mrs. C. J. McDonough, all of Dubuque, and Mrs. Irvin Grave, of Worthington; and four brothers, Leo Tobin, of Worthington. Carl and Paul Tobin, both of Dyersville, and Thomas Tobin, of Dubuque. He was preceded by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
