Sister Mary O'Donnell (Mary Colum), OP, died June 6, 2018. The funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m.,Tues., June 12, at Sinsinawa.

A wake service will be there at 6:30 p.m., Mon., June 11. She was born Nov. 13, 1929, in Attleboro, Mass., to John and Bridget Christine (Haren) O'Donnell.

She is survived by a brother, two sisters, nieces and nephews, and her Dominican Sisters.

She was an analyst for the U.S. Department of Defense before entering the Dominicans in 1954. She taught at St. Cecilia H.S. (Omaha) before receiving her M.S. degree (Marquette Univ.) in 1961. She taught at Rosary College (Ill.) before Ph.D. studies at the University of Mississippi. She returned to teach at Rosary 1984--2000. She tutored at Malcolm X College (Chicago) until 2015, coming then to Sinsinawa and, in 2018, to St. Dominic Villa.
