WORTHINGTON, Iowa - Edna V. Ahlers Bond, 87, 211 First St. S., Worthington, formerly of Farley and Osceola, died at 5 p.m. Monday, Jan. 11, 1999, at Shady Rest Care Center, Cascade.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Farley, with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today at Reiff Funeral Home, Farley, where there will be a wake service at 4 p.m.

She was born on Feb. 24, 1911, in Epworth, daughter of Carey and Ida (Baumgartner) Kline.

She married Lawrence Ahlers on Nov. 22, 1932, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Farley; he died Nov. 8, 1973.

She later married Ugene Bond on June 11, 1977, in Osceola. They owned and operated the Bond Jewelry Store in Osceola.

She received her education in the Epworth-area schools. She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, Worthington.

Surviving are her husband, Ugene "U.S." Bond, of Worthington; two sons, Lawrence (Mary) Ahlers, of Farley, and Carey (Darlene) Ahlers, of Worthington; a daughter, Marcille (LaVerne) Pins, of Farley; two stepsons, Jeff Bond, of Idaho, and Sam (Carol) Bond, of Forest Lake, Minn.; two stepdaughters, Susan (Gil) Roberts, of Gardenville, Nev., and Julie (Chuck) Norton, of Florida; 18 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; and a sister, June Keller, of St. Petersburg, Fla.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Janice Geers, in 1979; a grandson, Jeff Pins, on Nov. 8, 1973; two brothers, Kenneth and Angelo; and two sisters, Ada Goerdt and Dorothy.

An Edna V. Bond Memorial Fund has been established.
