Joan Marie Beversdorf, 75, of Dubuque, Iowa passed away on November 21, 2017 at Mercy Medical Center surrounded by her family.

Funeral service will be at 12:00 p.m. Saturday November 25, 2017 at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road, with Sr. Margaret Anne Kramer officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Family and friends may gather after 9:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home until time of service.

Joan was born on December 15, 1941 in Dubuque, Iowa the daughter of John and Mary Edna (O'Toole) Glab.

She married Ronald Beversdorf and together they had four children. She worked at Eagles Country Market in the Deli for many years.

Joan was a loving caretaker for her mother Edna for many years. She loved animals and doted on her pet cats along with collecting elephants. She also took great pleasure in traveling around the country. Our mother cherished family get togethers and especially delighted in spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her four children, Michael (Kathy) Beversdorf, of Woodstock GA, Dennis Beversdorf, of Canton, GA, Rachel (Roger) Weber, of Peosta, Rebecca (Tom) Thill, of Potosi, WI. Grandchildren, Stacey Soady, Austin, Spencer, and Mitchell Beversdorf; Bridget and Brittany Trillet; Zachary, Nicole, and Emily Weber; 4 great grandchildren, Jake and Ben Soady, Abigail Grahm and Jacob Hardesty. Her former husband Ron Beversdorf, of Dubuque. Her siblings, Sally Reisch, Kay Habovsky, her twin sister Jean Connolly, Susan (Walter) Bonnett, and David Glab; along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her grandchildren Alexander, Lucian and Zoey Thill; and her daughter-in-law Tina Beversdorf.

In lieu of flowers a Joan Beversdorf memorial fund will be established.

The family wishes to thank Mercy Medical Center, Especially the ICU nurses and staff, Dr. Janes, Dr. Whalen, and Dr. Bond, and a special thank you to Dr. Jill Powers for all their wonderful care and compassion they gave to Joan.
