Catherine D. (McDonough) Slattery, 91, of 261 Cardiff St., died Sunday, July 16, 2000, at Stonehill Care Center.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Key West, Iowa. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Hoffmann-Schneider Funeral Home, 1640 Main St., where there will be a rosary recited at 4:30 p.m. and a Catholic Daughters of the Americas rosary at 6:30 p.m.

Mrs. Slattery worked in the offices of the former Dubuque Packing Co., the Farm Bureau and John Deere, retiring in 1974.

She was born on March 2, 1909, in rural Hopkinton, Iowa, daughter of Frank and Kathryn (Murray) McDonough. She married Clarence Slattery on Oct. 28, 1950, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Dubuque; he died on April 20, 1959.

She graduated from Sacred Heart High School, Monticello, Iowa. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court 1287 of Dubuque, a member of St. Patrick's Parish and a former member of the Wa-Tan-Ye Club.

She especially enjoyed getting together with family and friends and will be greatly missed by them all.

Surviving are a sister, Mary L. McDonough, of Dubuque; a brother, James B (Melita) McDonough, of Dubuque; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Thomas (Ruth "Hayes") McDonough, of Dubuque; and many nieces and nephews.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, C.J. McDonough, Ernest McDonough and Thomas F. McDonough.
