The Bulldozing in Taylor Township

Yesterday morning the TIMES announced that Silas Moore of Taylor Township had abandoned his contest for Justice-ship with David Edwards. But it appears that Silas failed to notify the defendant in the case and witnesses of his abandonment of the contest; and they appeared yesterday morning as required by notice previously served on them. The court was organized when Mr. Coates presiding and J. W. Kirkpatrick as representative for Mr. Edwards and Mr. Lyons as attorney. Mr. Moore supposing that he had put a quietus on the matter by his notice of abandonment, failed to appear. The case was regularly called and judgement decreed against Moore for costs of the suit amounting to $43.15. Lyons says he is sorry the case was abandoned, for it deprived him of an opportunity to show up about the worse game of political fraud that was ever attempted in this county. He had his ax sharpened and meant to strike right into the roots of Mr. Moore had not wisely withdrawn.
