Yesterday, Davenport Gazette says;
“The steamer Colossal returned to this port yesterday afternoon, having been as far north as Clinton, where she delivered 500 kegs of nails. At Camanche, the freight on the two barges of the Arkansas were transferred to her. And so this, with her Moline, Davenport and Rock Island freight gave her a big cargo, putting her hull down four feet. Capt. Mose Hall will clear over $1,000 this trip. He deserves it – hope he will do every trip he makes to these waters, and that he may come sixty times a year.
