Dubuque Daily Times, Friday, November 24, 1876, Dubuque, Iowa, Page: 8

Justice Loeckie exercised his judicial ingenuity yesterday in unraveling a hog suit. C. Klonus and Ludwig Peil live near each other at Eagle Point. Ludwig has some sharp hog, and they were sharp-nosed enough to worm their way into Mr. Klonus’ corn field and do damage about $50 in amount, according to his estimate. He and all his family tried all the methods they knew of to capture the hogs and hold them as hostages for the mischief they had done, but the porkers were too intelligent to be caught. So he brought suit for $50, and got judgement for $12.
