John Comer

Born on January 31, 1872 in England, John Comer came to America with his parents, John Green and Mary Ann (Wall) Comer when he was four years old on the S. S. Galmorgan. They settled on one of the Richard Baker, Jr. farms south of Farley. Richard was a relative who went to England every year and brought back relatives with him to help farm his many acres of land. John Comer married Catherine Comer on Jan. 2, 1906 in Cascade. He bought his father’s 200 acre farm at age 26 where they raised three children: Marie, John and Joseph.

Joseph later married Stella Schockemoehl in 1943, purchased the family farm, raising their family of seven children there.
