Jonathan Foster served in the 21st Iowa Infantry. After the war he joined the GAR. I believe he is buried with his wife, Clarissa, who predeceased him.

Jonathan was born 03/19/1838 in County Fermanagh, Ireland. On 11/11/1860 he married Clarissa Flowers in Grant County, Wisconsin. They had two children, James and Jonathan, who died as infants. A third child, Amos C. Foster, was born 06/14/1866. Jonathan died 03/05/1916. The death date for Clarissa is illegible on documents received from the National Archive documents, in part reads 12/08/19__.

Jonathan Foster was apparently a feisty, accident-prone, Irishman. He was injured during the war when he was sitting on a horse and was hit by a musket ball. It did little damage but was sufficient to make him fall to the ground and that caused an elbow injury that bothered him the rest of his life. After the war he had several accidents – he fell from a railroad bridge when a tie broke, he was on crutches from that injury when he slipped and fell while going down steps, and he was hit by an "engine" and rendered semi-conscious for several days – but seems to have had a decent, hard-working, life.
