Elsewhere in our column will be found the notice of the marriage of Mr. Melvin L. Spaulding and Miss Anna E. Jackson. Mr. Spaulding is a young man of worth and ability, and has for some time past traveling agent for Oliver & Cragin’s marble factory. Miss Jackson is the daughter of Mr. C. M. Jackson, q well-known resident of Potosi, and a niece of Elroy Jackson of Hopkinton, and a cousin of Dr. Jackson, of the firm Hill & Jackson, Homoeopathic physicians; and was for a year a teacher in the Fourth Ward School, Dubuque, and during her stay in our city made many friends – of whom Mr. Spaulding was one. The newly married couple will go to Boston to participate in the centennial of the battle of Bunker Hill, and from there to the evergreen hills of Vermont to spend the summer – after which we hope to have Mr. and Mrs. Spaulding among us again as citizen of Dubuque.
