Edward Robert Wilkinson was born 5 Sep 1877, at Tama County, IA. At the age of six years he moved to Farnhamville. At the age of 27 years he moved to Jackson County, MN., where he worked for three years. On 26 Feb 1908, he was united in marriage to Minnie Mix of Somers, IA. Four children were born to this union: Homer, Fern, Ardith, and Darrell, aged 21, 19, 13, and 11 years. The family moved to Spirit Lake in May, 1931.

Mr. Wilkinson had not been in good health for some time and on the morning of 16 Mar 1932, very early in the morning, he suddenly passed away with scarcely a moments warning at the age of 53 years, 6 months, and 11 days.

Mr. Wilkinson has been a farmer all his life and has always been very highly thought of wherever he has lived. He was a good husband and father. He was known as one of the old settlers in Jackson County. He was a member of the Methodist Church in Jackson.

He leaves to mourn his loss his wife, the four children, one sister, Mrs. Melvin Wade of Spirit Lake; two uncles, Fred Wilkinson of Marengo, and B. A. Wilkinson of Spirit Lake, and one aunt, Mrs. Alice French of Chicago. The only remaining member of his family is Mrs. Wade.

Funeral services were held in the Methodist Church of Jackson, MN, Rev. W.G. Muhleman of the local church preaching the sermon. Interment was made in the Jackson Cemetery.
