Funeral services for Edward Joseph Halbur, 68, of Milford were Saturday, December 11, 1993, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Milford, Iowa with Rev. John Vakulskas officiating the services. Music was provided by Wynette Moore and Marlys Graettinger.

Edward Joseph Halbur was born at Halbur, Ia. in Carroll County, on July 10, 1925, to Frank and Frances Bierl Halbur. He received his education in Carroll County.

During WWII he served his country in the U.S. Army taking part in both the European and Pacific Theaters.

On July 23, 1946, he married Betty Jean Luchtel at San Antonia, TX. and to this union four children were born. The Halburs have lived in Milford area since 1954 where Ed had worked as an electrician.

Mr. Halbur died unexpectedly Tuesday in Portland, Oregon while visiting relatives.

He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Milford, the Knight's of Columbus and the Milford American Legion Post #384.

He is survived by Betty, his wife of 47 years, son Kenny and his wife Karen of Arnolds Park, Ia.; daughters Marlene (Digger) Jansen and her husband Leonard of Lake Park, Ia. and Tammie Buccino and her husband Joe of Vancouver, WA.; and five grandchildren Kizzie Halbur, Khara, Amber and Annika Jansen and James Buccino. Also surviving are brothers and sisters, Daniel Halbur of Carroll, Ia., Irene Steffes of Alta, Ia., Leonard Halbur of Carroll, IA., Norbert Halbur of Raymore, MO., Dorothy Dunn of Des Moines, IA., Vernice Halbur of Carroll, IA., Shirley Korwes of Minneapolis, MN., Mary Nuerburg of Omaho, NE., Wayne Halbur of Des Moines, IA., Ruth Overnohle of Lenexa, KS., and Eugene Halbur of Minneapolis, MN.

Mr. Halbur was preceded by his parents, son Albert (Abe) in 1977 an grandson Korey in 1989.
Interment was at Calvary Cemetery Milford, IA.
