Civil War Doctors

Charles F Marsh and William S Marsh were with the 25th Iowa Infantry. Charles was 20 years old and William was 45 years of age. William mustered in as 'Surgeon'. Charles was Assistant Surgeon until he was promoted to Surgeon in December, 1864. Both returned to Mt. Pleasant, Iowa after the war. William resigned after Vicksburg, and was sent home to "the loving attentions of his family"
Charles practiced in Iowa, and married Louise [nee] Mather. Son Franklin Charles was born in Iowa. Franklin was my Grandfather.
Any information about the Doctor would be greatly appreciated.
