Helen Amelia Speidel, 90, of Denver, formerly of Burlington, died at 12:30 a.m., Sunday, May 8, 2005 at Medical Center of Aurora South in Aurora, Colorado.

Born August 28, 1914, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Chris G. and Ella E. Egbert Miller. On November 18, 1939, she married Alex J. Speidel in Burlington. He died September 2, 1991.

Mrs. Speidel was owner and operator of a travel agency from 1963 to 1990, a homemaker, a clerk for Denver Dry Goods Co. and an elevator operator for J. S. Schramm.

She was a member of Park Hill United Methodist Church in Denver and women's circles at the church. She enjoyed cruises and travel to Hawaii, growing tomatoes and was an avid newspaper reader.

Survivors include one son, Chris Spiedel of Aurora; one grandson; one sister, Anna Mae Mohler of Burlington; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one son and one sister.
